Day 1 - September 20, 2010

Well, day one is under my belt and I didn't do too bad.  Normally the first day of a diet is the easiest... you are motivated and pumped up!  However, the universe had to throw a wrench in my willpower by having work provide free McAlisters for lunch!  Talk about temptation!  Who doesn't love McAlisters?!  So, I decided to go ahead and take advantage of the lunch.  BUT, I made healthy choices and skipped the table with cookies and sweet tea!  I was so proud of myself!

Today was a bit rough as far as headaches go.  Since I am trying to cut back my soda intake, I had a bit of a headache most of the day.  Nothing a little Motrin couldn't take care of though.

So here is what I ate today:


  • Breakfast:  Quaker Instant Oatmeal - Strawberries and Cream
  • Lunch:  1/2 Turkey Sandwich with tomato and lettuce, fruit (honeydew, grapes, and pineapple), 1 dill pickle, and 1/4 serving of mac n cheese.
  • Snacks:  No snacks today... work was hectic!
  • Dinner:  1/2 chicken breast (parm style), 1 cup linguine noodles with 1/4 c tomato sauce, 1/4 serving mashed potatoes.
  • Drinks:  2 Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper's & 7 glasses of water


Exercise:  25 minutes on the gazelle, 15 sit-ups

I went over my calorie allowance by about 200 calories.  Baby Steps...
